April Farnum

April Farnum

April has over ten years of experience as a graphic designer, photographer and writer. Passionate about food justice and sustainability, she worked for five years as a Volunteer Garden Leader for Denver Urban Gardens where she taught residents and school children in a low-income neighborhood how to grow organic vegetables, fruits and herbs. She implemented a farm-to-cafeteria program as well as an organic food donation service for the homeless. April started an edible landscaping business converting unsustainable grass lawns to organic vegetable gardens and teaching homeowners how to grow, harvest and cook/preserve. Before relocating to San Francisco, she traveled the West Coast for a year, volunteering on small scale farms and photographing farmers, artists and makers interested in propelling the "buy local" movement.
